Bible Contradiction Sources
by SG098 ini have a family member who is willing to let me show them contradictions in the bible.
i was wondering what would be a good basic source to use.
i don't need 100 contradictions, just a handful of good ones that make it almost or impossible to explain away.. thanks for your help.. .

I agree with Crazyguy that it is probably best to address the widely differing accounts of Jesus life.
The simplest one to point out is Jesus year of birth. Matthew says that Jesus was born while Herod the Great was still alive (Matthew 2:1). We know that Herod died in the year 4 BC. So Jesus would of had to been born before that according to Matthew. But Luke says that Jesus was born after the census when Quirinius was governor of Syria (Luke 2:1-7). But Quirinius didn't become governor until 6 AD and the census was in 7 AD. So, according to Luke, Jesus was born in or after the year 7 AD. Even assuming Jesus was born right before Herod died and right after the census was taken we are left, at minimum, with a ten year descrepency (4 BC to 7 AD with no year zero). If Matthew and Luke can't even get Jesus birth right, what else did they get wrong?

Going on the OFFENSIVE
by Coded Logic inthe wtbts has an easy time painting x-witnesses as apostates because the direction of information is entirely one way.
and jws rarely get an opportunity to consider both sides of the equation for themselves.
i think that websites like this one are a great tool for those who are already questioning their beliefs or are already entirely out.

Why do you think passiveness is the best form of attack?

The WTBTS has an easy time painting x-witnesses as “apostates” because the direction of information is entirely one way. And JWs rarely get an opportunity to consider both sides of the equation for themselves. I think that websites like this one are a great tool for those who are already questioning their beliefs or are already entirely out. And it is also a great site for advice and community.
That said, it’s a rather passive medium. It’s not like we’re knocking on JWs doors and telling them to go visit jehovahs-witness.net. Has anyone considered a more aggressive approach? Perhaps a leaflet campaign at a kingdom or assembly hall? Or perhaps something more ambitious, like crowdfunding a bulletin board near Watchtower headquarters? With big bold words saying something like “Jehovah's Witnesses part of United Nations for 10+ years!”
Surely there’s got to be some way that we can go on the offensive and expidite the fall of the WTBTS. Just think of all the children and the young adult lives that will be ruined over the next twenty years.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

is it possible to raise good kids with out religious morals?
by Princess Ashe inmaking up my mind on how to teach my son values in life seems to be an on going struggle of what is right and wrong.
being raised in a sheltered jw life until after leaving high school seems like going from one extreme to another of being over restrictive or under.
trying to find that balance.

While there are several different cognitive tools for teaching ethics some of the most basic principles are:
Empathy
Fairness
Liberty
Loyalty
Morality is all about wieghing how your actions will effect others. No two moral situations are ever exactly alike (which is why "moral commandments" are often anything but). It's also why a good parent doesn't tell a kid what to think. Rather, they teach thier kids how to think. So that when the child is faced with a moral delemia they have good metrics for determining how best to effect human and animal well being.

i read an article in the ny times recently discussing the negative nature of social media.
it discussed why instagram is so much more pernicious than facebook.
professionals and govts can use facebook to post new thoughts or ideas, even restaurants post specials and menus etc.. instagram on the other hand encourages people to post in a distilled down fashion the best parts of their lives.

Because they know that it is a tool for the elders to use against them. A while back I liked a little rant on my friends account of Gordon Ramsay going off on one of his rants because someone didn't cook the chicken all the way and could have gotten someone sick. Anyway, the next day my step dad sends me a message saying "I can't believe you liked that video on your friends account. Are you still a Witness?"
Their obsession with judging everyone else gets old really fast.

There are over a dozen departments under the DOJ. But none of them ARE the DOJ. Your intial statment remains false.
Have you not seen or read about the failed hard drive defense that has strangly happened to each IRS who has been investigated?
You are presenting a Red Herring. You intially said that the DOJ didn't investigate the IRS. Instead of admitting that isn't true or clarifying that you meant something different by your intial statement you are instead attempting to shift to a different topic.
How about an acquittal on some technicality.
You are incorrect. Sulaiman abu Ghaith remains in prison serving out a life sentence.
Foreign terrorists should never have equal rights to a US civilians.
The Constitution of the United States of America disagrees with you (see Fith and Fourteenth Amendments). You have a right to due process regardless of the crime your accused of and regardless of your citizenship status.
Holder is against anything that will suppress illegal aliens, and people from making duplicate votes for the democratic party of liberal hacks.
Please cite a credible source that shows democrats and liberal "hacks" are making duplicate votes.
Please provide a credible source for this claim.

Judging from the nonsense you just posted you seem to lack the capacity to understand what credible even is.
People who actually can support their claims don't have to resort to this sort of nonsense. You're not fooling anyone.
